SOUNDS OF CENTENARY

2 September, 2018 | 19:30, Vilnius Cathedral Square

This year is very important for all Baltic States, this is why we are very happy to invite all residents and guests of Vilnius to the Cathedral Square, where three orchestras of Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn will perform together in a concert “Sounds of Centenary”.
Vilnius has a strong friendship with the cities of Riga and Tallinn: we sang together during Singing Revolution, we held our hands in Baltic Way, now we will play music together!
In program: Lithuanian folk songs, pieces by Tomas Leiburas, Raimonds Pauls and Duke Ellington. The guests will enjoy solo performances by Petras Vyšniauskas, Veronika Povilionienė, Daumants Kalniņš. Conductors: Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra Modestas Barkauskas, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of „Orchestra RIGA“ Valdis Butāns.
The concert pieces will be performed by Vilnius Municipal St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, “Orchestra RIGA” and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.

This concert – is a part of a mutual project of municipalities of Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn and orchestras of the each city. 2 concerts have already happened: 18 August, 2018 in VEF Cultural Palace in Riga, 25 August, 2018 in Tallinn Independence Square.
The concert in Vilnius – is a last one out of three planned concerts. During it Vilnius will be together with Estonia and Latvia with all her heart! Let’s meet on the 2nd of September at the Cathedral Square!
