This year, when Vilnius is celebrating its 700th anniversary, another significant anniversary is being celebrated – the 75th anniversary of the Independence of the State of Israel. These are substantial anniversaries, so to give meaning to their historical memory, on May 25 St. “Symphony from Northern Jerusalem” composed by Jievaras Jasinskis will be played in St. Catherine’s Church. Even two orchestras will perform the newly arranged work – the Vilnius Municipality St. Christopher’s Chamber Orchestra and the Orchestra of the State Song and Dance Ensemble “Lietuva.” Guest musicians from Lithuania and Israel will accompany them, and the famous Lithuanian tenor Rafailas Karpis will sing. Modestas Barkauskas will conduct the joint team.
