a concert of OKEAN ELZY and St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra!
While we all are waiting for Christmas, we kindly invite to an exceptional concert of the best Ukrainian rock band Okean Elzy and St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra!
The concert of a band that gathers hundreds of thousands of people will be different this time. We will hear the best songs of the band in a fresh way: in the St. Catherine’s church of exceptional beauty and acoustics, with specially for the occasion prepared light design by Arvydas Buinauskas, performance will enriched by the sound of St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra.
The number of tickets is limited. The money gathered from the sold tickets will be donated to the foster homes of Ukraine.

CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR WITH ST. CHRISTOPHER CHAMBER ORCHESTRA!
While waiting for the upcoming New year 2019, St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra invites you to celebrate joyfully and with music!
The evening will be adorned by four exquisite singers of the new generation – winner of the Young Performer Award in 2017, owner of sonorous and delightful voice Jomantė Šležaitė, charismatic winner and scholar of a prestigious festival, who possess an exceptional voice – Edgaras Davidovičius and quickly rising star, rich bass – Kšištofas Bondarenko.

In a festive program – the best arias, duos, trios and singer quartets, fun and joyous atmosphere, surprises are foreseen too!

EXOTIC JAPAN

On 14 October St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra starts it‘s concert season and invites to immerse into exotic Japan!

In exceptional concert, we will hear a world premier by famous Japanese composer Atsuhiko Gondai, selected unheard pieces of Japanese composers, most beautiful pieces by Lithuanian composers. The soloist that will perform together with the orchestra is Mizuki Aita – a percussion virtuoso from the heart of Japan, a city inhabited by millions, unforgettable Tokyo. A special place in Mizuki‘s life of a performer takes vibraphone – exotic musical instrument of subtle, tender sound charming timbre colours variety. With its help, the soloist together with the strings of St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra will reveal the beauty of Japanese music.

Music – the Storyteller

A concert for youth – students from 5-9 grades (duration 45 min.)
”Music – the Storyteller”

Vilnius St. Christopher Chamber Orchetsra
Conductor – Donatas Katkus
Jokes and various interesting stories about music, conducting of Donatas Katkus and fabulous performance of a professional orchestra will create an exceptional atmosphere of the concert. The youth will be able to hear and see how the string orchestra sounds and looks like from very close, maestro will tell the most interesting details from the history of orchestra, answer questions of the youth, uncover the secrets of classical music, such as “why musicians sit on a stage in a certain way”, or “what would happen if the concertmaster of an orchestra wouldn’t come to the concert”, or “why would a conductor need knitting needles”… In program we will hear various pieces from various epochs: will listen to the most amusing baroque and classical pieces, exciting works from romantic period, and of course, we will not leave behind the exciting popular music! Exceptional atmosphere and acoustics of St. Catherine’s Church will stay in mind as an unforgettable memory.

SOUNDS OF CENTENARY

This year is very important for all Baltic States, this is why we are very happy to invite all residents and guests of Vilnius to the Cathedral Square, where three orchestras of Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn will perform together in a concert “Sounds of Centenary”.
Vilnius has a strong friendship with the cities of Riga and Tallinn: we sang together during Singing Revolution, we held our hands in Baltic Way, now we will play music together!
In program: Lithuanian folk songs, pieces by Tomas Leiburas, Raimonds Pauls and Duke Ellington. The guests will enjoy solo performances by Petras Vyšniauskas, Veronika Povilionienė, Daumants Kalniņš. Conductors: Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra Modestas Barkauskas, Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of „Orchestra RIGA“ Valdis Butāns.
The concert pieces will be performed by Vilnius Municipal St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, “Orchestra RIGA” and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.

This concert – is a part of a mutual project of municipalities of Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn and orchestras of the each city. 2 concerts have already happened: 18 August, 2018 in VEF Cultural Palace in Riga, 25 August, 2018 in Tallinn Independence Square.

The soloist of this concert has a special bond with Lithuania. Her mother was saved by a priest from Rokiškis (little town in the North of Lithuania), Antanas Gobis. Currently Golda is a famous American pianist and teacher. In this concert, we will hear a world premiere of a special piece, written by famous American composer Jan Radzynski just for her and for the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra.

MAIN SUPPORTER OF THE CONCERT – UAB BIOTECHPHARMA

Golda Vainberg Tatz gained her musical education at National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts; she continued her studies at Rubin Academy of Music in Israel, University of Tel Aviv, and Juilliard School.

As a soloist Golda has given concerts all over Europe, Israel, and the USA, she took part in various European radio and TV shows. As an active performer, she has participated in many prestigious international festivals all over the world. She has performed with many orchestras in Lithuania, conducted by famous artists, such as Robertas Šervenikas, Zeev Dorman, Saulius Sondeckis, Modestas Pitrėnas, John Fisher and etc.

The pianist has gained various awards, is a winner of prestigious scholarships. Among her notable achievements – winning at international piano competitions in the University of Michigan, „World Piano Competition“ in Cincinnati, Ohio, International competition “Frina Awerbuch” in New York, International Palm Beach competition in Florida, “Prix-du Disque” award for the recordings at French piano institute in Paris.

Golda Vainberg-Tatz has recorded many CD‘s: with Vilnius State Quartet, (in Delos, USA), violinist Raimundas Katilius, Moscow Chamber Orchestra and solo. Her recordings has gained the best critical acclaim in such magazines as “Fanfare” and “American Record Guide”.

Colorful – yes, this is the right word to describe this Friday and the beginning of summer concert. It is also a very important event meant to celebrate international Children’s day. This is a music fest for everyone – adults and children –, it is a time, after what you will feel that you have done something meaningful and joyful! The marvelous Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, wonderful music, extremely charismatic soloist, the young cellist Rugilė Juknevičiūtė (13), conducting guests from abroad and, of course, irreplaceable St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra – all this can become a great beginning of the summer!
Also this concert – is the closing concert of the masterclasses and a result of a cooperation between Zurich University of the Arts and St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra. The concert will be conducted by young students of Johannes Schlaefli. Johannesas Schlaefli – one of the most renown pedagogues in conducting, has taught great conductors, such as Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Patrick Lange, and Christian Kluxen.

International masterclasses for conductors – is a cooperation project between Zurich University of the Arts and St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra. Johannes Schlaefli – one of the most renown pedagogues in conducting, has taught great conductors, such as Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Patrick Lange, and Christian Kluxen.

The new artistic director and chief conductor of the orchetsra is Modestas Barkauskas, but this program will be conducted by the founder of the orchestra, conductor, winner of national award, maestro Donatas Katkus.
