2025 May 18, 7:30 p.m. National Gallery of Art (Constitution Ave. 22, Vilnius)
The first concert of Vilnius Spring Festival 2025 will bring together percussionists from the three Baltic States – Andrius Rekašius (Lithuania), Guntars Freibergs (Latvia) and Heigo Rosin (Estonia). Formed in 2023, the Baltic Percussion Trio will be presenting the work of Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian composers.
Latvian percussionist Guntars Freibergs studied in Strasbourg and Brussels, and received his Master’s degree from the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz. Today, he is one of Latvia’s most prominent percussionists, and has appeared in Lithuania numerous times as well. Heigo Rosin is perhaps the first Estonian percussionist to specialise in chamber music. He has performed at many prestigious concert venues, including New York’s Carnegie Hall. Lithuanian percussionist Andrius Rekašius began his musical journey at the age of eight, in the newly re-established Palanga Wind Orchestra. He has since become one of Lithuania’s most prominent percussionists, and can often be heard in contemporary music contexts.
The Baltic Percussion Trio has already performed in Estonia and Latvia, and they will finally be gracing Lithuania with their presence at Vilnius Spring Festival 2025!
