Some encounters happen only once. Moments when music, place, and people come together so perfectly that they seem destined to exist only here, only now – surrounded by the majestic ruins of Bartninkai Church.

On the evening of 8 August, internationally acclaimed tenor Edgaras Montvidas, the renowned St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra, and conductor Modestas Pitrėnas will join forces for an exceptional premiere programme that will be performed in Lithuania only once this year – at the Bartninkai Church Ruins.

For Edgaras Montvidas, this concert is also a deeply personal homecoming to his native region. No one could invite you to this unique musical journey better than the artist himself:

“I would like to invite the audience of the b’ART Festival on a journey along the Mediterranean coast. As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Spanish composer Manuel de Falla, we will begin with his vocal cycle Seven Popular Spanish Songs*. Our audience will have the rare opportunity to hear this work in a version for tenor and chamber orchestra.*

From there, Francis Poulenc’s Fiançailles pour rire (The Merry Wives) will take us to France, where we will also hear Claude Debussy’s Cloches (Bells). Naturally, we will make our way to Italy to savour its sunshine and spirit before returning to Spain – to passionate Granada beneath a sky filled with stars.

A journey is never complete without good companions, and I am delighted to share this one with the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra and conductor Modestas Pitrėnas.”

Join us for an unforgettable summer evening where remarkable music, extraordinary artists, and the timeless beauty of the Bartninkai Church Ruins come together to create an experience unlike any other.
