The Dream of Vilnius: A gift to Lithuania from Vilnius, which is getting ready for its 700th birthday

On 25 January 2023, the capital of Lithuania will be celebrating an extraordinary event – its 700th birthday. And Vilnius has a gift for you – The Dream of Vilnius, a unique mystery of modern technology.

Exactly at midnight, the city’s bell will toll, and an iron wolf will howl. What is it? This is the beginning of the dream of Gediminas, from which Vilnius was born.

Go to the free event in your city and see the entire history of Vilnius – from the howling of the Iron Wolf and the other important events that took place in Vilnius and affected all of Lithuania to love stories, cultural luminaries, and the city’s modern face. This account of the city’s history has been transformed into an extraordinary spectacle of lights and music.

Numerous professionals were involved in the development of The Dream of Vilnius. Professor Alfredas Bumblauskas put together the historical narrative, the musical atmosphere is a gift from the Vilnius St Christopher Orchestra (conducted by Modestas Barkauskas), composer Mantautas Krukauskas created the music, especially for this event, and the story will get a fresh breath of air from the Low Air dancers, with choreography created by Laurynas Žakevičius, Airida Gudaitė, and Paulius Tamolė.
