EVERY MORNING WILL OUTLIVE YOU

Composer Linas Rupšlaukis’ Premiere Piece “Every Morning Will Outlive You” Unites Music Professionals and People with Disabilities

On April 3 at 6:00 PM, at Molėtai Cultural Center, the Lithuanian Association for Special Creative Activities “Guboja”, in collaboration with the Molėtai District Municipality, will present a unique project titled “Art Connections – 1000 Colors”. The highlight of the evening – the premiere of composer Linas Rupšlaukis’ new work “Every Morning Will Outlive You” (lyrics by Alvydas Šlepikas) – will bring together professional musicians and people with disabilities on one stage.

This collaborative performance features a powerful ensemble of music professionals and performers with disabilities:
– The St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra of Vilnius City Municipality (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor – Modestas Barkauskas, conductor – Linas Rupšlaukis)
– The State Choir “Vilnius” (Artistic Director and Principal Conductor – Artūras Dambrauskas)
– Soprano Kamilė Bonté, percussionists Sigitas Gailius and Andrius Rekašius, and the Rhythm Group of the Šiauliai Municipal Care Home “Goda” – a group of musicians with intellectual disabilities (led by Natalija Pugačienė and Ilona Būdavaitė)

With over 33 years of experience, Guboja has seen firsthand how vulnerable people with disabilities remain in society. Recognizing the deep desire among many of these individuals to break out of their isolated communities and take part in the broader cultural life of society as equals, Guboja consistently fosters collaboration with professional artists and art groups. These partnerships lead to the creation of high-quality cultural, educational, and social projects, which are presented not only in Vilnius but also across regional audiences in Lithuania.

The long-standing inclusive activities of Guboja also bring added value – creating innovative, artistically and culturally meaningful works and services that promote empathy, tolerance, and appreciation for diversity throughout the country.

In 2024, Guboja, together with professional artists in Vilnius, introduced a contemporary new work: “Art Connections – 1000 Colors”. This included the premiere of Linas Rupšlaukis’ composition “Every Morning Will Outlive You”, which this year will be brought to the residents and guests of the Molėtai District.

The conceptual framework for this large-scale composition is guided by Alvydas Šlepikas’ text “When the War Ends”. In today’s global political and social climate, the daily stream of information and emotional undertones inevitably influence the creative process. This work offers a space to reflect on essential human values and the intersections of civilizations and cultures that we currently live in – often filled with tension and dissonance. It also encourages us to think about the potential of creative, free individuals, the meaning of personal autonomy in the digital era, and the role and value of art in today’s world.

This composition is a powerful expression of unity, education, and respect for human rights and personal freedoms. Through collaboration with well-known artists and artistic groups, individuals with disabilities are recognized as an integral part of society – not only fully capable of participating but also of contributing unique creative and artistic value.

🎟 The event is free of charge.
