The St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra opens its new concert season with a festive evening of elegance and musical brilliance at St. Catherine’s Church. The Grand Season Opening Concert invites audiences to immerse themselves in the rich world of British music, where the power of the orchestra, lyrical beauty, and profound emotion come together in a truly memorable experience.
The evening will feature the St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra under the direction of its Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Modestas Barkauskas, joined by the outstanding cellist Rugilė Juknevičiūtė. Currently studying in Zurich with one of Europe’s most renowned cello professors, Thomas Grossenbacher, she represents a new generation of exceptional Lithuanian musicians making their mark on the international stage.
The programme includes works by Gustav Holst, Gerald Finzi, Edward Elgar, and other composers, showcasing music filled with noble melodies, heartfelt lyricism, and the enduring charm of the British classical tradition.
