“We felt a connection between the Sinai desert and the sand of the Paneriai pine forest,” said the audience after seeing the “Dance Symphony from North Jerusalem” for the first time. After a successful evaluation and sensitive experiences of the story, the dance performance based on the music of Jievar Jasinskis returns even deeper this fall. The “Lietuva” ensemble program and the “Awakening Orchestra” will take place on September 19. Šiauliai and September 24. In Alytus, we are inviting you to learn about history in an even more evocative way – through symbols, dance, live music, and even the experiences that resonate most deeply in us.
“Dance Symphony from North Jerusalem” was specially created to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liquidation of the Vilnius ghetto; therefore, the premiere took place in 2023. September 23-24 In the State Youth Theater, in the former territory of the Vilnius ghetto. Honorable guests also arrived in the capital this time – members of the Lithuanian Jewish community, domestic and foreign diplomats, and others who are indifferent to the common past of Lithuanians and Jews. Until now, this performance is like an educational program that the younger generation could see as a history lesson.
