October 24 In the St. Catherine Church, the Vilnius Municipality St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra (artistic director and conductor – Modestas Barkauskas) is organizing an exceptional concert of instrumental and vocal music dedicated to the famous composer Feliksas Bajoras, who is celebrating his 90th anniversary this year.
The colorful and perhaps most theatrical Lithuanian composer’s work does not leave anyone indifferent. The composer says, “It is more important to be yourself than to be understood.” Feliksas Bajors is a truly exceptional and hard-to-predict personality in Lithuanian music. Exploding like a revolution in the 7th decade, Feliksas Bajoras shook up conservative creators, opening up the theatrical possibilities of music.
St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra (artistic director and chief conductor Modestas Barkauskas) is one of the most prominent Lithuanian chamber orchestras. His repertoire ranges from baroque to unexpected musical experiments and much more. The orchestra annually organizes the International St. Christopher Composer Competition, in 2024. presented a new, exclusive music festival for Vilnius – “Vilnius Spring Festival”. It is one of the most versatile and playful Lithuanian orchestras presenting a wide variety of musical programs, it is also a welcome guest in the best concert halls of Lithuania and Europe.
