December 31, 2026, 5:00 PM and 8 PM St. Catherine’s Church, Vilnius
New Year’s Eve deserves a special soundtrack. The festive atmosphere of the city, music that captures you from the very first notes, and that wonderful feeling when everyday life can finally be left behind with the old year.
The St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra invites you to welcome the New Year in style – elegantly, but without taking things too seriously. Joining the orchestra on stage are soprano Eglė Stundžiaitė-Bešėnienė and tenor Eimantas Bešėnas, for a programme that brings together the festive sparkle of Vienna, the energy of Broadway, the magic of film music, the romance of musicals, and melodies you will recognise from just the first few notes.
The programme features music by Johann Strauss, Franz Lehár, Leonard Bernstein, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Leroy Anderson, and other composers. One moment, the music will sweep you into an exhilarating festive rhythm; the next, it will transport you to Broadway or the silver screen – before giving you the chance simply to enjoy the blend of soprano and tenor voices.
This is not a concert where you need to “know your classical music.” It is an evening for those who want to dress up a little, meet friends or someone special, head out into the city, and spend the final hours of the year not in front of the television, but experiencing music, emotion, and celebration live.
And when the final notes fade away, the night will only just be getting started. A perfect beginning to an evening that will end in a brand-new year.
